The Power of the Redwood Tree!

Building the “Bridge of Mercy”. Construction begins with a solid foundation of Faith. Faith in an invisible God that none have seen, but is evident through the Face of His Son. Calvary is where the journey begins. The pillars of Faith; The Apostles Creed, the Seven Sacraments, The Ten Commandments and The Lord’s Prayer. Does your faith stand on such a foundation? Without a firm foundation, the building that is within us will crumble and not withstand the storms of life that will come.

Have you ever witnessed or seen the California Redwood Trees? Some of the most giant of these trees stand over 275 feet tall, weigh over 2.7 million pounds and average about 100 feet in diameter. How do these Giant behemoth trees grow and withstand storms? It begins with their root system. One would assume their roots are extremely deep but that is not the case. They are only about 5 or 10 feet deep, but the extend up to 100 feet from RedwoodRootthe trunk or base of the tree. They thrive in thick groves, where the roots can intertwine with each other giving the tree its strength. Intertwining, braiding, twisting and coming together becoming strong, working in concert, conjunction with one another to generate massive strength and sustainability.

Picture your faith as the root system within the tree of Mercy which is our Bridge from this life to the Eternal. Our connection from the Finite to the Infinite; from our world to the Eternal Father. We must be rooted in our Faith. We must work in concert with one another as Christians, seeking out with tenderness, understanding and unconditional forgiveness that we might grow together. If one root is weak then the others come to its aid with nourishment of water, sunlight and healing from the others. This is the Bridge of Mercy that leads to the Father’s forgiveness for all mankind.

The specialized water system within the tree transfers water through the roots upward to give it strength and sustainability for its journey toward the Eternal. We also must continue to work tougher, strengthening, lifting up and building up one another; as ONE people of God, all traversing the Bridge of Salvation leading to the Father’s Mercy. That bridge was formed and solidified through Calvary. Christ on the Cross, the precipice of Love, the foundation of renewal and courage in a world filled with storms, trials and tribulations.

RedwoodUpWe look to the power and strength of these great trees given to us from the Father who looks down upon His people with Grace and Unconditional love. Let us continue to strengthen each other with the same love of Calvary. Giving up our lives that others might live, dying to our sinful flesh and living for the Spirit of Love placed within each of us at the moment of our conception. Once we reach that point, then the world shall see not only the power of the Redwood Tree, but the POWER of He who created it; He who is the Creator of all that is, that was and all that WILL come to be!
